OpenLiberty.org Releases First Open Source Identity Governance Framework Software

– OpenLiberty.org, the global open source community working to provide developers with resources and support for building interoperable identity-enabled services for enterprises and people, today announced the release of ArisID, the first open source software implementing Liberty Identity Governance Framework (IGF) components. The ArisID API provides enterprise developers and system architects with a library for building enterprise-grade identity-enabled applications using multiple identity protocols, and lays the groundwork for allowing enterprises to manage and audit the identity requirements of business applications based on declarative IGF policy specifications.

New Liberty Alliance Group Focuses on Identity Management in the Education and Human Resources Sectors

– Liberty Alliance today announced the launch of the public Liberty Alliance Human Resources and Education Special Interest Group (SIG). The goal of the group is to foster interoperability, security and user privacy across online identity-enabled solutions in the global education and human resources sectors. The Human Resources and Education (HR-EDU) SIG will hold its first public face-to-face meeting on October 22 at the ePortfolio & Digital Identity 2008 conference in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Liberty Alliance Launches Public ‘French Speaking’ Digital Identity Management Forum

– Liberty Alliance today announced the launch of the Liberty Alliance French-speaking Special Interest Group (SIG). Based in Paris with liaison members in other French-speaking countries, the public forum has been created by Liberty members from EIfEL, Entrouvert, France Telecom/Orange and Sun Microsystems. The goal of the forum is to foster a global French-speaking identity community working to advance secure and privacy-respecting identity-enabled applications based on Liberty Alliance specifications and the standardized Liberty Identity Assurance and Liberty Identity Governance Frameworks.

Liberty Alliance Announces Latest Companies Passing SAML 2.0 Interoperability Testing

– Liberty Alliance today announced that products from CA; NTT Software; Ping Identity; RSA, The Security Division of EMC; and Ubisecure have passed Liberty Alliance SAML 2.0 interoperability testing. These vendors participated in the second Liberty Interoperable™ event to offer full-matrix and eGovernment profile testing managed by the Drummond Group Inc. Liberty Alliance and the Drummond Group will host a public webcast outlining the benefits full-matrix testing is delivering to the global identity industry at 8 AM US PT (5 pm CET) on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008.
