Business & Marketing Expert Group (BMEG):

Chaired by Sreeram Thirukkonda of Fidelity Investments, this group is responsible for defining market requirements, developing business guidelines and overseeing marketing communications activities.

Identity Assurance Expert Group (EIAEG):

Co-chaired by Alex Popowycz of Fidelity Investments and Frank Villavicencio of Global Transaction Services at Citi, this group is working to develop a global standard framework and any necessary support programs for validating trusted identity assurance service providers in a way that scales, empowers business processes and benefits individual users of identity assurance services.

Public Policy Expert Group (PPEG):

Co-chaired by Peter Lord of Oracle and Robin Wilton of Sun Microsystems, this group develops deployment guidelines and best practices for managing privacy in all Liberty Alliance deployments as well as overall advisement on worldwide policy considerations and public privacy summits.

Technology Expert Group (TEG):

Chaired by Prateek Mishra of Oracle, this group drives the Liberty Alliance standards development process.

DACH Special Interest Group:

Chaired by Tim Cole, KCP, this public group is responsible for discussing common challenges in regional marketplaces and identifying opportunities to drive awareness and adoption of Liberty's output in such regions. Public site here.

eGovernment Special Interest Group:

Chaired by Colin Wallis of the New Zealand Government’s State Services Commission, this group is working on advancing open federated identity management and identity-enabled Web services in the worldwide public sector. Public site here.

Co-chaired by Peter Alterman of the US GSA, Federal PKI Policy Authority (FPKIPA), and Russ Cutler, FuGen Solutions, this public group is designed to function alongside the IAEG, providing public input and dialogue to the global standard framework and any necessary support programs for validating trusted identity assurance service providers in a way that scales, empowers business processes and benefits individual users of identity assurance services that the IAEG is driving. Identity Theft Prevention Group:

Chaired by Bob Pinheiro, Robert Pinheiro Consulting LLC, this public working group is exploring the many aspects of online fraud and identity theft as well as potential solutions. Public site here.

Japan Special Interest Group:

Co-Chaired by Kenji Takahashi of NTT and Nobu Tanaka of NEC, this public group manages all Liberty Alliance activities in Japan. Public site, in Japanese, here.

Health Identity Management Special Interest Group:

Co-chaired by John Fraser of MEDNET and Pete Palmer of Wells Fargo, this public group discusses privacy of networked health records as a whole, creating a forum for industry recommendations and action. Public site here.

Norway Special Interest Group:

Chaired by Ingrid Melve of UNINETT, this public group facilitates collaboration and discussion among Liberty members with an interest in identity management applications and services, acting as forum to discuss best practices by organizations in Norway. Public site here.

Standards Coordination Special Interest Group:

Chaired by Peter Davis of NeuStar, this group is responsible for liaison work with other standards organizations and working toward collaboration and support where appropriate.

Strong Authentication Special Interest Group:

Chaired by Rob Marano of Indorse-Tech, this group discusses all aspects of strong authentication and driving discussion of interoperability of multiple authentication mechanisms in federated and/or Web services and/or stand-alone digital identity architectures/environments.
