US GSA Requires Liberty Alliance Interoperability Testing as Public Sector SAML 2.0 Adoption Soars

Liberty Alliance Builds Global Trust Framework for Identity Federations Spanning Industries and Regions

– Liberty Alliance today announced it has formed a new expert group to deliver the Liberty Trust Framework, an organizational framework designed to fill industry requirements for standardized identity assurance criteria for use in a broad range of federation scenarios. Liberty’s Identity Assurance Expert Group (IAEG) was established by the recent merge of the Electronic Authentication Partnership (EAP) into Liberty Alliance, and consists of representatives from the worldwide financial services, government, healthcare and service provider sectors working collaboratively to release the Liberty Trust Framework for public review and input later this year.

Liberty Alliance Announces IDDY Awards Ceremony at DIDW 2007

– Liberty Alliance, the global identity consortium working to build a more trusted Internet for consumers, governments and businesses worldwide, today announced the 2007 IDDY Awards will be presented on September 25 as part of the keynote sessions at DIDW in San Francisco. Applications selected for this year’s IDDY (Identity Deployment of the Year Award) will also be featured in a DIDW panel presentation taking place on September 25 and moderated by Roger Sullivan, president of the Liberty Alliance Management Board. The call for nominations for the 2007 IDDY closes on Monday, August 20.The IDDY recognizes identity-based applications built using Liberty Federation, Liberty Web Services, Liberty People Service and Liberty Advanced Client specifications. This year's call for nominations includes an Emerging Application category designed to shine a spotlight on the proof-of-concept applications leveraging the security, privacy and proven interoperability of Liberty’s open identity standards. Individuals can nominate a deployment for the 2007 IDDY.

Industry Leaders Submit Identity Governance Framework to openLiberty.org for Development of Open Source Implementations

– Liberty Alliance today announced two key milestones for the Identity Governance Framework (IGF). Today, industry leaders submitted IGF to openLiberty.org for open source development of IGF implementations. Liberty Alliance also announced the ratification of market requirements documentation (MRD) for IGF and the commencement of technical specification work. With today’s news, developers, system integrators and organizations in every sector can begin planning IGF deployments referencing the publicly available MRD and building IGF applications based on the open source APIs collaboratively developed at openLiberty.org. Liberty will hold a public webcast to review IGF developments and the roadmap for continuous development and support within Liberty Alliance and at openLiberty.org on August 15 at 8 am US PT.

Liberty Alliance Announces ‘SOA: Protecting the Architecture by Leveraging Standards’ Webcast

HP, Intel, NTT and Symlabs First to Demonstrate Interoperability of Liberty Alliance Advanced Client Specifications

– Liberty Alliance today announced that Intel, HP, NTT and Symlabs have demonstrated interoperability for Liberty’s Advanced Client specifications. The testing was conducted by Liberty’s Technology Expert Group (TEG) to ensure the specifications meet foundational use case requirements and enable interoperable implementations. Concordia Project Advances Interoperability Among Digital Identity Management Solutions

Liberty Alliance and Oracle Team to Advance Identity Governance Framework

Liberty Alliance will leverage its expert groups, diverse global membership and leadership in addressing the technology, business and privacy aspects of digital identity management to further develop the IGF specifications.
