Liberty Alliance Announces openLiberty Project

Liberty Alliance, the global identity consortium working to build a more trusted Internet for consumers, governments and businesses worldwide, today announced the openLiberty Project, a global initiative formed to provide resources and support to open source developers building identity-based applications. With today’s news, Liberty Alliance has launched openLiberty.org, a portal where developers can collaborate in the openLiberty Project and access tools and information for “jump starting” the development of more secure and privacy-respecting applications based on the widely deployed Liberty Federation and Liberty Web Services standards.

Liberty Alliance today announced officers on the Liberty Alliance Management Board for the 2007 calendar year. These positions are voted on by Liberty Alliance board members with elected officers serving one year terms. Roger Sullivan, vice president of Oracle Identity Management and vice president of the Liberty Alliance Management Board for the past two years, has been voted to lead Liberty as president in 2007.
