Wednesday October 25 2006 06:04:41 am WSF-WS*-WSIThe question was “How does Liberty ID-WSF 2.0 compare or relate to other web-service identity efforts such as WS-* or the WSI profiles” – WSF stands for the Identity Web Service Framework, its a set of specifications defined by Liberty that together constitute the ‘plumbing’ for identity-based web services – WS-* is a set of proposals and standards (driven primarily by IBM & MSFT but along with other companies) for various aspects of web services security. – WS-I stands for the Web Services Interoperability Organization – a body that profiles various web service standards in order to optimize interoperability (by reducing the flexibility that typical exists in the base standards). http://josd.myopenid.com/ |
